3.4. Tilting
• In order to remove water from the mattress during or after showering,
the bed base on the Luxal can be tilted .
• In order to tilt the bed base downwards to remove water and ensure
that the client can be cared for properly, press the button that shows an
arrow tilting diagonally downwards on the remote control
(See figure 6) .
• The bed base is restored to the horizontal position by pressing the
button that shows the arrow tilting diagonally upwards on the remote
control (See figure 7) .
• The Luxal can be moved upwards or downwards while the Luxal is
tilted . The bed base will return to the horizontal setting in the highest or
lowest position .
Make sure that the bed base is not tilted excessively (upwards or downwards) if a
client is lying on the stretcher.
3.5. Water drainage
• Water is drained away from the Luxal via a drainage hose .
• Take the hose off the hook and direct it to a drainage point that is as low as possible .
• During transport, always hang the hose on the hook otherwise it may leak and drip .
3.6. Changing batteries
• If you hear an audible signal, the battery must be changed .
• The battery is housed under the head-end of the Luxal,
against the operating electronics .
• In order to remove the battery, use one hand to unlock the
catch (1) on the battery, then slide the battery to the right
(2) (See figure 8) .
• To install the fully charged battery, it must first be positioned
next to the electronic housing and then clicked into the
holder .
Make sure that the Luxal is always ready for use by having a fully charged reserve
battery on standby.
