EN Floor milling machine BEF 320EX / BEF 320VX
3 Operation
A general inspection of the machine must be
conducted before starting up the machine. Parti­
cular attention should be paid to damaged or
loose components, and wear.
The machine may only be put into operation in
perfect technical condition.
Do not operate the machine in areas where
there is risk of explosion or near flammable ma­
terials!
Adding to or modifying the machine in any way
that could compromise operating safety is prohi­
bited!
3 Operation
Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2.
Risk of injury from parts flung out during milling!
Wear protective clothing and protective goggles!
Wear safety shoes!
Wear safety gloves!
Proceed with the greatest care and caution!
Danger of injury from loud noise during milling
operation of the machine!
Always wear hearing protection when the ma­
chine is in operation!
Risk of injury from parts flung out! The surface
to be milled has to be free from obstacles,
soiling and loose objects that can be flung out
during milling.
Risk of injury from rotating machine parts! Limbs
and clothing can be drawn in!
Proceed with the greatest care and caution!

BEF 320EX:
High‐voltage electrical current can be fatal! Do
not allow the power line to be run over, crushed
or pulled on!
The operating range is limited by the length of
the power line. Stop the machine in time!
Risk of injury from dust formation during milling
work!
The machine must always be operated with a
dust extraction system with a corresponding
filter!
Respiratory protection must be used!
Risk of injury due to high temperature on motor,
drive elements and milling rotor! These parts
may still be hot after operation.
BEF 320VX:
Additional risk of injury from hot exhaust parts
[31, Fig. E] and hot exhaust air!

3.1 Starting up the machine

Observe the safety instructions in Chapter 2.
The machine may only be started up by quali­
fied personnel.
A visual inspection of the machine must be car­
ried out before starting up the machine.
Particular attention should be paid to damaged
or loose components, and wear.
BEF 320VX:
Suffocation and poisoning hazard from toxic ex­
hausts!
Machines with combustion engines may not be
operated in closed rooms or in ground depres­
sions without sufficient supply of fresh air.
Check fuel levels of petrol and oil.
(! HONDA operating manual).
The machine is delivered with an oil filling
but not with petrol.

BEF 320EX:
Disconnect mains [25, Fig. D].
BEF 320VX:
Turn the fuel valve [30, Fig. E] to
OFF
