9. Troubleshooting
If your charcoal barbecue does not work as normal, follow the instructions below to try to solve the
problem. If working through the tips below does not fix the fault, please contact our hotline (see
"Warranty information" on page 43).
Problem
Charcoal does not
light.
Fan cannot be
powered on.
Barbecue becomes
too hot or undesired
flame formation.
Barbecue does not
become hot
enough.
10. Environmental regulations and disposal information
A symbol depicting a crossed-out rubbish bin on a product means it is subject to
European Directive 2012/19/EU. All electrical and electronic devices must be
disposed of separately from household waste at official disposal centres.
Do not dispose of the appliance in household waste or bulky waste collections.
Information on collection points and pick-up times can be obtained from your local
council or waste disposal company.
Old batteries must not be disposed of with domestic waste. They must be handed in at a collection point
for waste batteries. Please note that batteries must be disposed of fully discharged at appropriate
collection points for old batteries. If disposing of batteries which are not fully discharged, take precautions
to prevent short circuits.
Dispose of all packaging in an environmentally friendly manner. Cardboard packaging can be taken to
paper recycling centres or public collection points for recycling. Any film or plastic contained in the
packaging should be taken to your public collection points for disposal.

Possible causes
Fan is not powered on.
Control dial adjusted to too
low position.
Batteries inserted incorrectly or

Remedy
Turn the control dial (9) to the maximum
position (clockwise until it stops) to power on
the fan.
Turn the control dial (9) to the maximum
position (clockwise until it stops).
Insert the batteries with the correct polarity (+
and -). Replace the batteries with new ones as
needed.
Reduce the air supply using the control dial (9).
To do this, turn it counter-clockwise.
Increase the air supply using the control dial
(9). To do this, turn it in a clockwise direction.
