21. Surface-mounted belt winders, removing the belt in the event of unit failure
In the event that the belt winder
fails and the drive no longer runs,
you can fully remove the belt from
the belt winder without having to
cut it with help of the drive release
mechanism. In order to do so, you
must first dismantle the surface-
mounted belt winder.
1.
Remove the power supply from
the socket.
2.
Release the drive with the help
of a pointed instrument (e. g. a
paper clip).
CAUTION
Hold on to the belt, as otherwise
the roller shutters can fall down in
an unrestrained manner.
When pressing, you will have to
overcome a small amount of re-
sistance.
3.
Hold down the drive release mech-
anism and subsequently pull the
belt as far as possible out of the
belt winder.
Release the belt from the fixing
hook and pull it completely out of
the belt winder.
4.
Finally, dismantle the surface-
mounted belt winder as previously
described on page 93.
