Notices according to DIN EN 179 and DIN EN 1125

Danger resulting from modifications of doors along escape routes: The safety features of this product
are an essential requirement for its conformity with DIN EN 179 and DIN EN 1125. No changes which are
not described in these instructions may be undertaken.
Unsuitable doors impair personal protection and intrusion protection: Only approved and technically
correct doors are suitable for installation of the electric multi-point lock 819. Prior to the installation of the
electric multi-point lock 819, the door must be checked to ensure that it is attached properly and is not
warped. The door must be approved for use of the electric multi-point lock 819. Door operating elements
may not impede each other.
The electric multi-point lock 819 is not approved for use on double acting swing door or double-leaf doors.
Unsuitable locks impair personal safety and fire protection: The electric multi-point lock 819 is suitable
for fire doors and smoke protection doors ("Classification key", page 40). Check whether the door certi-
fication matches the lock. Make sure that the electric multi-point lock 819 is installed in the appropriate size
and with the correct accessories.
Unsuitable door seals impair personal safety: When door seals are used (such as profile seals or bottom
seals), no function of the electric multi-point lock 819 may be impaired.
Severe injuries can result from broken glass doors: Glass doors or glass parts on doors must made of
safety glass or composite safety glass.
Unsuitable fasteners impair personal safety and intrusion protection: Suitable fastening material must
be chosen depending on the installation situation and door materials.
Incorrect or faulty installation impair personal safety: The normal installation height for the horizontal
push rod is 900 mm to 1100 mm above the finished floor surface. If children are present in the majority of
the building, the installation high must be reduced accordingly.
The horizontal push rod must be installed such that the greatest possible effective bar length is achieved.
Any lock counterparts or coverings which are provided should be installed in order to ensure conformity
with this European standard.
Limited movement of the door impairs personal safety: All blocking elements must be installed such
that the free movement of the door is not impeded. The doors may only be held closed with the approved
locks. No additional devices may be installed. Any door closers which are installed may not impede the
actuation of the door by children or disabled persons.
