Before Use
• Screw the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick clockwise into the oil filler neck and
tighten lightly. While tightening, ensure that you do not damage the thread. If
necessary, turn the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick anti-clockwise until it rests
correctly on the thread.
• Start the generator (see chapter "Starting the generator").
• Leave the generator in operation for 10 minutes and check that the oil inlet
screw with dipstick is tight and that no engine oil is leaking.
• Tighten the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick if necessary, as long as you do not
have to apply excessive force.
• Assemble the side housing and motor cover again with the butterfly bolt in
reverse order.

Engine oil warning system

The generator's engine oil warning system is designed to prevent engine
damage caused by insufficient oil in the crankcase. Before the oil falls below a
safe limit, the engine oil warning system switches the engine off.
• The engine oil warning light
starts flashing red during operation if
there is too little oil in the engine.
• During operation, the engine
oil warning light starts to glow
continuously red when the oil
quantity has fallen below the safety
quantity. The generator switches
itself off automatically after a short
time.
• The engine warning light flashes when the generator attempts to start while
the oil quantity falls below the safety quantity. The generator cannot be
started.
If one of the cases should occur, top up the engine oil as described in the
chapter "Filling the engine oil".
