Before Use

Checking the engine oil level

The engine oil warning system stops the engine automatically before
the oil level falls below the safety limit. However, it is advisable to check
the oil level visually on a regular basis.
• Place the generator on a flat surface.
• Unscrew the butterfly bolt
hand and remove the motor cover

• Remove all residues in the area of
the oil filler neck

• Unscrew the oil inlet screw with oil

dipstick anti-clockwise.
• Wipe the oil inlet screw and the
oildipstick dry with a clean cloth.
• Insert the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick into the oil filler neck until it is flush
with the thread.
• Use the dipstick to remove the oil inlet screw.
• Check that the oil level is between the lowest and highest levels (marked L for
low and H for high on the oil inlet screw with dipstick).
− If the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick is not wetted with engine oil up to
or above the marked lowest level, top up engine oil (see chapter "Filling
engine oil").
− If the oil inlet screw with oil dipstick is wetted with engine oil above
the maximum level, remove the engine oil with a suitable syringe (not
included).
