1.1

Function

exodraft model RSHT chimney fan is a chimney top mounted ventilator that is designed to pro-

vide large lue gas volume capacities and to work with high temperatures. It is intended for use
with solid fuel but can also be used for non-solid fuel. The use of the RSHT chimney fan is not re-
stricted to any type of chimney, because the fan creates a negative pressure (below atmospheric)
in the chimney. Typical uses in the residential areas are: Controlling the draft for a solid fuel ired
boiler, ireplace, stove, BBQ, or pizza oven. In the industrial areas typical uses are in the bakery
or process industry. The exodraft chimney fan type RSHT is supplied with location brackets,
armoured cable, repair switch box, safety wire and mineral wool mat for vibration-free mounting.
The RSHT chimney fan is designed to be able to withstand the high temperatures associated with
Function
wood burning and heating from industrial boilers and appliances such as ovens.
The axial vane construction provides a self-cleaning efect. This product is developed to prevent
draft problems by creating a mechanical draft in lue systems and thereby also increasing the
capacity and eiciency of a chimney system. Though the chimney fan is not limited to such use,
it is perfect for use with ireplaces, barbecues, pizza ovens and wood stoves. Bad stoking habits
and poor maintenance can result in problems with soot, chimney ires, etc. which might damage
the chimney fan.
Warning
All installations must be carried out by competent personnel in accordance with national laws
and regulations
Avoid chimney ires – ensure that the chimney has been swept before mounting the fan.
The chimney fan must always be operating when the chimney temperature is above 250 °C.
Please always read the installation instructions for the exodraft control unit, before installation
of the chimney fan.
If the exodraft fan system has been designed for solid fuel/multi fuel installations then please
ensure the design meets the requirements of EN15287-1. If this can not be achieved, then a
smoke alarm must be installed in the same room as the appliance.
exodraft would always recommend the use of a smoke alarm when a solid fuel open ire is
installed.
Fans serving biomass boilers will inevitably receive a deposit from the appliance. Especially on
biomass boilers it is essential that a regular inspection and cleaning regime is implemented,
especially in the early days of usage, to establish a pattern for timing of regular inspections and
cleaning.
1.2

Warranty

exodraft products are warranted for a period of two (2) years following the date of invoice. Replacement or repair of
the fan will be at exodraft's discretion, provided factory inspection shows a defect in material or workmanship.
