CAUTION: Activating the electrosurgical unit
simultaneously with the aspiration/irrigation
can alter the path of electrical energy away
from the tissue.
CAUTION: The use of non-insulated bipolar
forceps in confined spaces (e.g., tonsillectomy)
can result in unintended contact with and
possible injury to non-target tissue during the
application of power to the forceps. The use
of insulated forceps is recommended for such
procedures. The use of non-insulated forceps
may also result in possible injury to the user
during application of power to the forceps.

Preventive Maintenance

Inspect all instruments before each use to
assure expected function.
Remove coagulum deposits as often as
necessary to keep working surfaces clean.
For safe and convenient in-use removal of
coagulated blood and debris from the tips
of bipolar-forceps, we recommend the use
of SURGIKOS
(SURGIKOS catalog no. 4315).
Irrigation Microtube Care
1. Remove stylet from irrigation microtube
prior to inserting the irrigation tubing.
2. Upon completion of the procedure, flush
the microtube with nonsaline, sterile water
and reinsert the stylet.

Cleaning and Sterilization

Refer to Codman Instructions for Use #204233
for updated information regarding reprocessing
