Cooking sensor function (optional)
With this function, you can heat up, cook or boil foods,
cook with the pressure cooker or fry in a pot with a lot of
oil at a controlled temperature.
This function is available for all elements.
Advantages
▯
The burner only heats up when necessary. This
saves energy. Do not overheat oil or grease.
The temperature is checked continuously.This
prevents the food from overflowing. The
temperature does not need to be readjusted
▯
A signal will sound once the water or oil has
reached the optimum temperature for adding the
food. The table shows if an ingredient needs to be
added right at the start.
Notes
‒
Use pots and pans with a flat base. Do not use pots
and pans with a thin or domed base.
‒
Fill the saucepan until its contents are above the
silicone patch on the outside of the pan.
‒
Use the frying sensor when frying with a small
amount of oil.
‒
Position the saucepan in such a way that the
temperature sensor is not pointing towards a
different pan.
‒
Do not remove the temperature sensor from the pan
during cooking. If the cooking process has ended,
the functions for another burner can be selected.
‒
Remove the temperature sensor from the pan after
cooking. Caution, the temperature sensor can be
very hot.

Suitable for
Setting the boiling point
e.g. soups, punch
The point at which water begins to boil depends on the
height of your kitchen above sea level. If the water boils
e.g. rice, milk
too hard or not hard enough, the boiling point can be
set. Proceed as follows here:
e.g. noodles, vege-
tables
▯
e.g. chicken, stew
e.g. donuts, meat-
balls
Heating up / keeping warm: Portioned frozen
products, e.g., spinach. Place the frozen food in the
cookware. Add the quantity of water recommended
by the manufacturer. Cover the cookware and set
the temperature to 160° F (70 °C). Stir
occasionally.
Simmering: thicken food, e.g., sauces. Cook the
food at the recommended temperature. After
thickening, leave it to stand at 185° F (85°C).
After the signal sounds, keep the food at this
temperature for the required time.
Boiling: heat water with lid on. Do not boil over. Set
210° F (100 °C).
Cooking in a pressure cooker: Follow the
manufacturer's recommendations. After the signal
tone, continue cooking for the recommended time.
Set 240° F (115 °C).
Deep-frying with a lot of oil in the pot: heat the oil
with the lid closed. Remove the lid after the signal
tone and add the food. Set 345° F (175 °C).
Ensure that the silicone patch is completely dry,
before you start cooking.
Always cook with the lid on. Exception: "Deep-frying
with a lot of oil in the pot," at 340° F (170 °C).
If there is no audible signal, make sure that the lid
is on the cookware.
Never leave oil unattended when it is being heated.
Use oil or grease that is suitable for deep-frying. Do
not use a mixture of different deep-frying fats, e.g.,
oil with lard. Mixtures of different fats may froth up
when hot.
If the cooking result is not satisfactory, e.g., when
cooking potatoes, next time use more water but
maintain the recommended temperature level.
