INSTALLING NON-COMBUSTIBLE BOARD
THE SURFACE ABOVE THE APPLIANCE GETS VERY HOT. IF PROPER FINISHING MATERIALS ARE
NOTE: The 26 1/2" (673mm) above and the 7" (178mm) on either side of the appliance opening must not
be fi nished with any combustible materials.
Place the front non-combustible panel against
appliance and secure in place with the drywall screws
provided. The panel has pre-drilled holes that align to
pre-punched holes in the appliance. Repeat for other
side.
NOTE: Install the non-combustible board supplied onto the appliance pre-determined holes and align as
illustrated above secure into position using the screws supplied.
Joint Compound where required
Joint compounds such as Durabond 90 and tapes that are resilient to heat and cracking should be used when
taping and mudding seams.
Setting tiles and grouting
We recommend you use tiles with a dry butt joint to be installed using a two-part mortar with an acrylic latex
additive, such as Mapei Kerabond/Kerlastic, to allow for slight movement in the normal operation of the
appliance.
If grout is used between the tiles, a polymer-based grout, such as Mapei Ultracolour plus, is recommended.
Primer/Paint
For a painted surface, use a 100% acrylic latex primer and fi nish coat. Light coloured paints may discolour.

Install the metal framing to the
top of the appliance, refer to
the "FRAMING" section.
