Connect the PC to the jack RS 485 IN (14).
For remote control of another unit, connect
this unit to the jack RS 486 OUT and set the
selector switch TERMINATION (15) to OFF.
If no further unit is connected to the jack
RS 485 OUT, set the switch to ON. Thus, the
RS-485 control cable is terminated with a
resistor.
7) Finally connect the mains cable provided to
the mains jack (9) first; then connect it to a
socket (230 V~/50 Hz). The LED STAND-BY
(8) lights up.
6 Operation
1) Switch on the amplifier with the button
POWER (7). The LED STAND-BY (8) is
extinguished; the display (1) is illuminated.
To switch off the amplifier, keep the button
POWER pressed until the display is extin-
guished.
Alternatively, switch on / off the amplifier by
remote control via a switch connected to the
terminal AC POWER REMOTE (12).
Note: For remote-controlled activation / deactiva-
tion, make sure that the amplifier has not been
switched on with the button POWER previously or
alternatively open the switch connected first and
then keep the button POWER pressed until the LED
STAND-BY lights up. Remote-controlled activa-
tion/deactivation of the amplifier is now possible.
2) To adjust the volume, keep the knob LEVEL
(5) pressed until the brackets [ ] containing
the volume value (e) start flashing on the dis-
play. As long as the brackets keep flashing, it
is possible to adjust the volume by turning the
knob. The brackets will stop flashing after
30 seconds when the knob has not been
turned or when the knob is pressed again.
The volume adjusted (0 – 99) is shown in
field (e) of the display. The signal level at the
output SPEAKER OUTPUT (13) is indicated
by the bar graph (f).
3) Make all other settings via the menu:
a) Keep the button MENU (2) pressed until
the first three menu lines are shown on the
display (fig. 4).
b) The first menu line
Use the button SELECT to define if the
voltage is to be monitored (YES) or not
(NON) by an emergency power supply unit
connected.
Note: If you use the unit PA-24ESP from
MONACOR for emergency power supply, deac-
tivate the monitoring (OFF). Since the 24 V
power of the PA-24ESP is only present in case
of mains failure, the PA-1250D would report this
as a fault in normal mains operation.
c) To go to the next menu line, press the but-
ton MENU; to change the setting, press
the button SELECT:

reduced. If there is still an overload after 10 sec-
onds (e. g. in case of short circuit), the speaker

If the power consumption is too high (e. g. over-
load of speaker output or fault in the amplifier),
the following message may appear:

PROTECT
The protective circuit has switched off the power
amplifier. To find the fault, disconnect the plug-in
screw terminal SPEAKER OUTPUT (13) from
the amplifier. Use a thin object to press the reset
button (6). The power amplifier is switched on
again. If no fault indication appears, the fault is
due to the speaker cable or the speakers. If the
fault indication reappears, the amplifier is defec-
tive and must be repaired.
Overheating
OVER HEAT
LIMITED OUTPUT
This message appears when the amplifier is
overheated (e. g. in case of insufficient heat dis-
sipation). The output power is limited to
rated power. If the temperature of the heat sink
in the amplifier still continues to rise, the speaker
output will be muted. The following message
appears:

As soon as the temperature is back to normal,
the amplifier returns to the rated output power.
