4.8 Mounting
The accumulators with standard connection
and nominal volumes up to 2 l can be
screwed directly into the pipe. The diaphragm
accumulator must be installed securely to
withstand vibrations during operation or any
break in the pipes. Also, the mounting supports
must not exert stress in any form on the
accumulator.
For suitable clamps and consoles please
refer to the brochure „Supports for Hydraulic
Accumulators"
No. 3.502.
4.9 General
For further technical details please refer to the
following brochures:
„Hydraulic Diaphragm Accumulators"
No. 3.100 and
„Hydraulic Dampers"
No. 3.701.

Maintenance of the
accumulator
5.1 Basic maintenance
instructions
In order to ensure long and trouble-free
operation, the following maintenance
procedures must be carried out regularly:
– Test the accumulator pre-charge pressure,
– Check that connections are tight and leak-
free,
– Check the valves and safety devices for
correct operation,
– Check the supports.
NOTE
The current regulations for repeat testing in
the country concerned must be observed.
5.2 Pre-charge pressure testing
frequency
If an accumulator type is being used in a
particular application for the first time for
which no empirical values are available, it is
recommended to observe the following testing
frequency:

1 year
X = test pre-charge pressure
If no noticeable gas loss has occurred, it is
recommended to perform the pre-charge
pressure test for the elastomer diaphragm
once a year (every six months for the all-PTFE
diaphragm).
If sufficient empirical data is available, the
testing frequency can be specified according to
the specific circumstances.
NOTE
Continuous operation at high operating
temperatures requires more frequent testing.
