6 Operating ventilation unit(s)
The set operating mode and ventilation
i
level apply to all connected room air
controls and ventilation units, as does
the External OFF function.
Other settings (intermittent ventilation,
sleep mode) only apply to ventilation
units on the relevant room air control.
Recommendation: Use ventilation
i
system in continuous mode. Only
use cross-ventilation mode for limited
periods. If stationary for long periods,
replace the air filters Chapter 4,
safety instructions.
6.1 Switching on/off
Once the mains fuse has been switched on,
the LEDs of the selected operating mode and
ventilation level light up on the wired room
air controls Chapter 2. Radio-controlled
ventilation units have 3 LEDs [17] directly on
the underside of the inner cover plate.
Select "ventilation level 0" to switch off the
ventilation units.
To save energy, the LEDs are dimmed if not
used for 5 minutes.
6.2 Shutter
The shutter [2] in the internal housing [3]
serves to prevent harmful substances from
being drawn indoors and/or cold outside air
flowing in when the unit is switched off (level 0).
PP 45 K
With
and
ter opens and closes automatically (servo-
motor).
PP 45 O
shutters can be closed from
outside by hand (with rotary knob [4]) in the
event of unpleasant smells/ingress of harmful
substances, for example.
Before switching on
i
ensure that all shutters are fully
opened. This is the only way of ensur-
ing perfect ventilation and air extrac-
tion.

6.3 Heat recovery operating mode
All ventilation units connected to a room
air control run with heat recovery (WRG) in
alternation.
When the WRG function is switched on,
the associated status LED (WRG) lights up.
Interconnected unit pairs switch between
ventilation and air extraction in a 60-second
cycle. The ventilation level can be changed as
often as required.
6.4 Cross-ventilation operating mode
Suited to rapidly venting living spaces or for
cooling (e.g. in summer nights). The air flows
in one direction: Direction of airflow perma-
nently set to ventilation or air extraction, no
heat recovery.
When the function is switched on, the associ-
ated status LED (cross-ventilation) lights up.
The ventilation level can be changed as often
as required.
NOTICE
During continuous cross-ventilation mode,
the rooms may cool down if the supply air
temperature is low (outside temperature
< 16 °C). Recommendation: Only use
cross-ventilation mode for limited periods.
6.5 On-demand automatic operation
Function only available if sensor is con-
i
nected and activated in service mode.
Automatic operation to dehumidify the air or
to raise the room air quality to a certain value
limit.
The ventilation is automatically adjusted using
the humidity, CO
or air quality value (VOC)
2
measured by the sensor. Automatic operation
controls interconnected ventilation units fol-
lowing the stored sensor characteristics curve
(linear course).
Sensor value limits for comfort unit can be
changed/set with the commissioning software.
The value limits for object or RC units are
stored permanently and cannot be changed.
