Stove and Archway 1700 Insert with the previously recognized Blackcomb II Stove wood burning Stove.
Dear Mr. Thibodeau- Fortin,
This letter represents the results of an evaluation on free standing and insert stove models listed in object when
compared to the previously Blackcomb II Stove as mentioned in appendix.
The Models listed in subject are either inserts or stove models manufactured based on the construction of the
Blackcomb II. The combustion room of all the mentioned units are identical so is their combustion air intake.
The variations are esthetical only and they are as follows:
 The loading door differs by shape;
 The façade differs by shape and materials;
 The pedestal or leg differs by shape and materials;
 The decorative side panels differ by shape.
This investigation was authorized by SBI in October 2018. Drawings were received on October 26
Intertek Lachine facility.
The Models mentioned in Subject share similar features and are designed after an EPA certified wood burning
stove Model Blackcomb II.
Design drawings were evaluated to determine similarities between the above mentioned models. Drawings
show internal fire box size to be the same at 13 1/2" deep, 11 1/8
5/8" wide. All appliances share a 6" flue collar and have the same primary air intake controls.
Differences noted during this evaluation were on the door shape, pedestal, legs, decorative side panels as well
as the typical look of the façade of all units inspired by their typical branding look.
