INTRODUCTION

Intertek Testing Services NA (Intertek) has conducted testing for Stove Builder
International Inc., on model 1.7 Series Wood Burning Room Heater to evaluate all
applicable performance requirements included in "Determination of particulate matter
emissions from wood heaters."
I.A PURPOSE OF TEST
The test program was conducted to determine if the unit is in accordance with U.S. EPA
requirements under EPA 40 CFR Part 60 "Standards of Performance for New
Residential Wood Heaters, New Residential Hydronic Heaters and Forced-Air
Furnaces". This evaluation was conducted from November 27
The following test methods were applicable:
I.B LABORATORY
The tests on the model 1.7 Series Wood Burning Heater were conducted at the client
facility in St-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec located at 250 de Copenhague, St-
Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec, Canada G3A 2H3. The laboratory elevation is 213
feet above sea level. The test was conducted by Claude Pelland, P.E. and observed by
Guillaume Thibodeau-Fortin of Stove Builder International Inc.
I.C DESCRIPTION OF UNIT
The model 1.7 Series Wood Fuel Room Heater is constructed of sheet steel. The outer
dimensions are 23 19/32-inches deep, 29 3/8-inches high, and 22 1/2-inches wide. The
unit has a door located on the front with a viewing glass.
