GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunc-
tion or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least
resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of
electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord
having an equipment-grounding conductor and ground-
ing plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate
outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accor-
dance with all local codes and ordinances.
WARNING:
the equipment-grounding conductor can result
in risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified
electrician or service person if you are in doubt
as to whether the outlet is properly grounded.
Do not modify the plug provided with the
appliance - if it will not fit the outlet, have a
proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit
and has a ground plug that looks like the plug illustrated
in figure 1. Make sure that the appliance is connected
to an outlet having the same configuration as the plug.
No adapter should be used with this appliance.
HOW TO USE THE MACHINE
How to Put the FiltraPac on and Adjust for Comfort
Follow these steps to put on the FiltraPac and to make
adjustments for fitting comfort:
1. Pick up and put on vacuum, sliding in one arm at a
time.
2. Buckle the waist belt.
3. To properly adjust the shoulder strap and belt
harness, pull down on shoulder straps so the
material slips through buckle until tight.
4. Tighten the waist belt. The waist belt should be
very snug to transfer the weight to the hip and
legs.
5. Practice the vacuuming technique using a side to
side sweeping motion. See figure 2.
6. Use a twisting motion to install and remove the
friction fit tools.
7. Take the vacuum off by first loosening both straps
on the shoulder harness, then unbuckle belt
harness.
8. Remove the pack.
