4.6.3. Connecting Lifeguard to SP400BT

Feature available in future firmware revisions. Ensure you have the current I&OI documentation by using
the link available on the cover of this manual. Also ensure your Lifeguard firmware is always current, by
occasionally running an update. An update can be run following the instructions in Section 7.
For adequate weatherproofing, the wall or post that Davey Lifeguard is mounted
to, should be flat and at least as wide as the unit. Ensure the top and bottom of the
Lifeguard is not protruding higher than what it is mounted to. Davey recommends
installation under cover or eaves.

4.6.4. Mounting the Davey Lifeguard controller

The rear of the Davey Lifeguard controller has mounting supports 205mm apart (refer Figure 4.25).
The wall plug and screw kit provided should be used to mount the Davey Lifeguard controller. Davey
recommends Davey Lifeguard mounting holes be drilled 170mm higher than the top of the current
EcoSalt2 power supply box (refer Figure 4.26).
Before powering up the Davey Lifeguard ensure:
• All probes are plugged in to Davey Lifeguard (as per section 4.5)
• RJ45 communication cable and power lead connected
• pH and salt water calibration solutions are nearby
• The ORP probe has been in calibration solution for 10 minutes.
• Pump is not powered and pipework pressure relieved
• Allow between 5 and 15 minutes for first time start-up
• Power is connected and on to EcoSalt2
