TROUBLESHOOTING
ENGINE NOT
STARTING
Check the fuel
Check the spark plug
Have the engine repaired
by an authorised seller or
read the service manual.
Forward movement is
defective
Grass is not being collected
Engine not starting but the
automatic switch-off lever
(9) is pressed
Possible cause
Lack of fuel
Wrong fuel, appliance storing without emptying
the fuel tank, wrong fuel type.
Wrong, dirty or wrongly set spark plug.
Spark plug is wet from fuel (flooded engine).
Clogged fuel filter, wrong carburettor or ignition
system setting, blind valves, etc.
Stroke is too long
Blocked channel, full grass catcher, grass is too
wet
Automatic switch-off lever stroke is too long
Add fuel
Drain the fuel tank and carburettor. Add fresh fuel.
Replace the spark plug.
Dry and refit the spark plug.
Replace or (if necessary) repair any defective component.
Change the stroke setting
Clean the ejection channel, empty the grass catcher, cut
only in dry weather
Shorten the automatic switch-off lever using an adjusting
nut.
