6.4 Additional utilization possibilities
6.4.1 The Booster as an alternative on-board network current supply
If the vehicle battery is disconnected then data such as for example radio code, memory functions (for example: seat),
adjustments (for example the clock) will be deleted from the memory storage and are therefore lost.
The battery Booster can be utilized as an alternative current supply when changing the battery for voltage supply for
the on-board network.
ATTENTION: The cigarette lighter only functions with several vehicles when the ignition is switched on!
Method of working:
- Ensure that the vehicle sockets are switched to continuous current.
- Position the Booster in close proximity to the cigarette lighter socket (for example in the passenger foot area)
- Plug one end of the supplied direct current cable (Ill. B) into the 12 Volt socket on the Booster front and the other end
into the vehicle cigarette lighter socket. When the green LED on the plug is continuously illuminated then the contact
is created and the Booster 550.1710 automatically supplies a voltage of 12 Volt.
NOTE: The main switch must be in the position 12 Volts for the Booster 550.1720.
ATTENTION: Only for cigarette lighter sockets with 12 V current!
ATTENTION: The battery plus cable is under current and must not come into contact with the vehicle earth!
6.4.2 The Booster as a mobile energy supply (source)
The Booster can be utilized as a mobile 12 V current supply. For this simply connect the 12 Volt device
(for example: coffee machine, mini-compressor, lamp etc.) to the 12 Volt Booster cigarette lighter socket.
ATTENTION: The main switch must be in the position 12 Volts for the Booster 550.1720.
The output current amounts to a maximum of 15 A. The cigarette lighter socket is protected against overloading and
short-circuiting.

7. Maintenance and storage

must be immediately exchanged.
- Never operate the device if a protective cover is missing or if all protective equipment is not in place and in perfect
condition.
- Always keep the device in a clean condition!
ATTENTION: Do not utilize degreasing agents or water – danger of corrosion!
- Careful maintenance guarantees the utilization availability and long life of the device.
7.2 Storage
When not being used the Booster should always if possible be connected to the automatic network charging device!
If that is not possible then the device must be re-charged at a minimum of every two months. Store the Booster in a
dry room with a relative humidity of maximum 60%. The device should be stored in a fully charged condition! Do not
store the Booster outside.
Avoid contact with dampness and aggressive substances.
The optimal storage temperature is between -10°C and +35°C.
