GENERAL REMARKS
PRINCIPLE OF THE TP 1400
The TP 1400 is a further member of the new generation of welding rectifiers.
High-performance electronics have helped create a truly unique rectifier that
weighs in at a mere 4.4 kg.
The voltage from the mains is first rectified. A high-speed transistor switch
chops this direct voltage at a frequency of up to 100 kHz. The welding
transformer then creates the required operating voltage, which is rectified and
delivered to the output sockets. An electronic controller adjusts the power-
source characteristic to the electrode that is to be welded.
The unit's compact dimensions, low weight and very modest power consump-
tion are real advantages in its favour. Its superb ignition and welding
properties, coupled with the fact that it can also be used as a TIG welding
machine, extend its range of use and application still further.

MACHINE CONCEPT
The TP 1400 may only be small, but it is built to function dependably under
even the toughest operating conditions. Features such as its powder-coated
sheet-steel housing, the way its controls are protected by a plastic frame, and
its bayonet-latching connection sockets all testify to the high quality of its
design. Thanks to its carrying strap, the machine is easy to move around -
both in the workshop and out in the field.
