a) Mode: Photo, video, photo + video: Here you can
choose if you wish to take photos or record videos. In
the photo + video mode, the camera first takes a prede-
termined number of photos and then a video is recorded.
b) Photo Size: Select photo resolution: It is recommend-
ed to set your camera to "5M". Photos with higher
resolutions use considerably more storage space.
c) Video Size: High resolution videos provide higher qual-
ity videos but use considerably more storage space.
1280x720p at 30 fps is the default setting and is gener-
ally recommended. If the video quality is not that impor-
tant and you wish to save memory space, set the camera
to a lower video resolution. The highest resolution of
1920x1080p records at 15 frames per second.
d) Number of photos: 1 - 9 photos: Select the number
of photos that should be made each time the camera is
triggered.
e) Video Length: 10 - 180 seconds (in 5 second intervals):
Select the length of video that should be recorded each
time the camera is triggered.
f) Interval: From 5 sec. to 59:59 min. Default 30 sec. Se-
lect the amount of time the camera should wait before
the camera should trigger again after a photo or video
has just been made. This function can prevent repeated
and undesired recordings of the same occurrence.
g) Time Lapse: If this setting has been activated, the cam-
era will record images in accordance with the selected
time interval, regardless if the PIR sensors have been
triggered or not – images during the growth of plants,
progress at a construction site etc. can be recorded at
regular intervals. The default setting is "OFF".
h) Audio Recording (On/Off): Here you can choose
whether audio should be recorded in video mode or not.
i) Automatic Off: Here you can determine when the
44
camera should automatically be deactivated when in
setup mode – after 3, 5 or 10 minutes.
j) LCD display duration: Here you can determine when
the LCD display should automatically be deactivated
after 1, 3 or 5 minutes.
k) Flash: The intensity of the infrared LED flash can be
selected – Automatic, high or low.
l) Timer Setting: OFF/ON: Here you can determine times
of the day in which the camera should be active - up to
2 time periods a day (that should not overlap). If this
function has been selected, the start and stop times
can be set. The timer setting makes sense if the DTC
550 is to be used, for example, to observe a construc-
tion site during working hours.
m) Date and time: Here you can set the date and time
that should appear in the timestamp.
n) Time format: Select either 12 or 24 hour time format.
o) Time stamp: Select "On" if you wish the date, time,
temperature and moon phase to appear in the times-
tamp of your recorded images or "Off" if the times-
tamp should not appear.
p) Camera Name: Here you can assign a 4 digit "name"
to your camera – either numbers, letters or a combi-
nation of both can be used. This can be helpful if more
than one camera is being used in a particular area and
to identify which camera recorded images in which
particular area of surveillance.
q) Password On/Off: This enables you to enter a four
digit PIN number to prevent unauthorized access to
your camera. The PIN is requested while in TEST mode
each time you turn the camera on and is required be-
fore you can use the camera. (If you cannot remember
your PIN, the camera must be sent together with the
purchase slip to our service centre.).
