6 Operation
Many functions can be operated from both the base unit as well as the handset. Please note that
many of the keys depicted below are provided on both the base unit as well as the handset;

However, when completing an operating sequence, you may not switch between oper-
ation on the base unit and operation on the handset. Before beginning with an operating
sequence, decide whether you want to complete it using the base unit or handset.
Switching the handset on / off
No calls are received on the handset when it is switched off.
No battery power is used when the handset is switched off.
No emergency calls can be made from the handset when it is switched off. The handset
must be switched on beforehand, which can take a little time.

Key lock

The key lock feature prevents functions assigned to keys being activated accidentally.

Incoming calls can still be taken in the normal way even when the key lock function is
activated. Emergency (SOS) calls can still be made when the key lock function is active
(via the SOS call numbers).

Taking a call
In addition to the ringing tone, the visual call indicator lights up when a call is received.

Do not hold the handset too close to your ear when it rings as doing so could cause
hearing damage!
If the automatic answering function is activated, the call is taken by simply removing the handset

Ending a call
