2 Putting the Telephone into Operation

Safety note
Caution: It is essential to read the safety information in Chapter 1 before pre-
paring the telephone for use.
Checking the package contents
The package contains:
a base station
a handset
a charging unit for the alarm unit
an alarm unit
a programming unit
Connecting the base station
Caution: Position the base station with a distance of at least 1 meter to other
electronic equipment because it could lead to mutual disturbance.
Connect the base station as illustrated in the diagram. For reasons of safety, only use the power adapter plug and telephone connection
cable supplied.

Connecting the charging station
Plug the power adapter plug in a properly installed mains power outlet.
Inserting the batteries
Open the battery compartment and insert the batteries. Only use batteries of the
type AAA Ni-MH 1.2 V. Pay attention to the correct polarity. Close the battery
compartment cover.
Charging the batteries
Before using the handset for the first time, place it in the base station/charging station for at least 14 hours. When the handset is cor-
rectly inserted in the base station / charging station, an acoustic signal issued and the charge control lamp lights up. The handset warms
up during the charging process. This is normal and does not represent a risk. Do not charge the handset with charging units from other
manufacturers. The current battery charge status is indicated in the display:
