10) MAINTENANCE FOR THE INSTALLER
During maintenance operations, all necessary precautions
must be adopted to preserve the hygienic integrity of the
equipment.
Reparations and maintenance must be carried out using ori-
ginal replacements.
10.1 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
For the equipment to work in optimal conditions, we suggest
performing the following operations periodically:
- Clean the brine with warm water and remove any sediment
from the suction pipe (fig. 1, D) every six months.
For external cleaning use a damp cloth and warm water.
Do not use detergents or other chemical substances.
- Clean the injector (fig. 6, B), its filter (fig. 6, D) and the
brine control (fig. 6,C) at least once a year, following the
instructions reported below:
1. Close the water inlet and outlet taps (fig. 3, B, D)
2. Press and hold the
quick cycle of manual regeneration.
3. Wait a few seconds and check that the display shows the
C1 phase.
4. Wait 15 seconds, then unplug the equipment.
5. Unscrew and remove the ejector (fig. 6, B), the filter (fig.
6, D) and the brine control (fig. 6, C).
6. Clean the components with water and make sure the hole
in the ejector is not blocked (fig. 6, B).
7. Put the parts back in their place carefully.
8. Open the water inlet and outlet taps slowly (fig. 3, B, D).
9. Plug in the equipment again.
10. Press the N
h
buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
The valve will place itself on working mode. The display
will then go back to showing the current time.
10.2 RESIN PRESERVATION AND ACTIVATION AFTER
A LONG PERIOD OF INACTIVITY
If the water softener is not to be used for more than 30 days,
it is necessary to do a regeneration first.
We suggest avoiding a period of inactivity longer than 12
months. It is forbidden to reactivate the system after this pe-
riod of inactivity.
If the period of inactivity is shorter than 12 months, it is ne-
cessary to perform a resin rinse (see paragraph 7.2 "MANUAL
REGENERATION") before reactivating the equipment.
10.3 DISCONNECTING THE EQUIPMENT
1. Close the inlet and outlet water taps (fig. 3, B, D)
2. Press and hold the
button for 5 seconds to start a quick
cycle of manual regeneration.
3. Wait a few seconds and check that the display shows the
C1 phase.
4. Wait 15 seconds, then unplug from the socket.
The equipment has now been depressurized and can be di-
sconnected from the water system.
10.4 CHANGING THE RESINS
The resins' softening capacity ends after 5-7 years. This pe-
riod can change based on the characteristic of the feed water
and the quantity of softened water.
After this period of time, the user needs to decide if it is enou-
gh to change the resins or if it is better to change the water
softener itself.
To change the resins it is necessary to disconnect the water
softener as described in the previous chapter.
Bring the tank to an appropriate place to change the resins
20
button for 5 seconds to start a
VOLUMETRIC
and clean the interior of the tank.
Unscrew the valve from the tank, being careful not to lose the
o-ring of the valve.
Do not throw the resins in the domestic discharge.
The resins are not biodegradable and must be considered a
non-hazardous waste (code CER 190905).
After changing the resins, check and clean the valve seal from
any resin residue. Change the o-ring if necessary.
Insert the o-ring back in its place and tighten the valve to the
tank.
Re-connect the water softener and activate it (see chapter 4,
"ACTIVATION")
Check that there are no leaks.
11) MAINTENANCE FOR THE USER
Maintenance for the user only consists in refilling the brine
periodically with sodium chloride (NaCl, common salt) (fig. 7).
If salt is lacking, the water softener will not be able to soften
the water.
ATTENTION! Use refined salt for cooking, even in tablets,
suitable for water softeners.
Keep the brine tank cap closed, to avoid that dust or other
substances may fall inside and compromise the equipment
and the water.
The user is responsible for refilling the brine tank with
salt, so we suggest checking the salt levels in the con-
tainer periodically.
Use a container to insert salt, to avoid propping the salt
package on the brine tank.
12) IMPROPER USE OF THE EQUIPMENT
This equipment has been created to soften drinking water for
domestic and technological use. The equipment must not be
used for any other purpose and it must not be modified or
tampered with in any way.
Any other use than the one specified in this manual is impro-
per and therefore dangerous.
The manufacturer cannot be considered responsible for any
damage caused by improper, mistaken or illogical use of the
equipment.
• It is forbidden to feed the equipment with any liquid other
than drinking water.
• It is forbidden to put any products other than cooking salt
(NaCl) and water in the salt container.
13) EQUIPMENT DISPOSAL
Any waste must be disposed of according to the applicable
norms.
The water softener was built with non-hazardous materials
like polymers and they must be disposed of according to the
applicable norms.
Do not throw the resins in the sewer.
The resins are not biodegradable. They are classified as
non-hazardous waste, and must be disposed of accordingly
(code CER 190905).
14) ALARMS ON THE DISPLAY
• ERROR 1
The program can't work anymore.
h
Press the
button to reset. If the error signal does not disap-
pear, replace the timer.
• ERROR 2
Unplug and re-plug in the fixture.
If the error does not disappear, it means that the power supply
frequency is not 50 or 60 Hz, or the timer is broken.
