c) Inspecting the Control Functions
After switching on the transmitter and connecting the rechargeable battery to your model's control electronics, your
model is ready for operation. Now push the switch (figure 5, item 1) into the „ON" position. The LED next to the switch
lights up. No motor should start up or hum in this moment.
If this is not the case, disconnect the drive battery again and find the reason. Also observe the notes in this
chapter, item „Trimming in the Model".
Check the function „driving forwards". The
throttle lever of the transmitter (figure 6, item
1) permits smooth adjustment of the model's
driving speed. The farther you push the lever
to the handle, the faster must the two ship's
propellers turn and the faster will the ship
move forward.
If the ship's propellers do not turn or not turn correctly, disconnect the drive battery again and find the
reason. Observe the notes in this chapter, item „Trimming in the Model".
If the motors only start up when the throttle lever is pushed forwards, you need to operate the „reverse"
function at the transmitter for the control function „driving forwards". For this, observe the operating instruc-
tions for the remote control system.
To drive a bend, one motor is switched off or decelerated and the other motor's speed is adjusted. If you want to initiate
a bend to the left with your model driving forward, the left motor will be decelerated or switched off. The right motor will
continue to run or pick up speed, depending on throttle lever position.
Check the function „driving bends". The throttle lever remains in the neutral position for this function test. Turn the
transmitter's steering wheel (figure 6, item 2) slightly to the left. The farther you turn the steering wheel to the left, the
faster does the right ship's propeller have to turn and the lower will the left bend's radius be.
If the wrong ship's propeller turns, the „reverse" function at the transmitter must be operated for the control
function „left/right". For this, observe the operating instructions for the remote control system. Also observe
the notes in this chapter, item „Trimming in the Model".
