The pressure range icon is used to choose either +200/-400 daPa or +100/-200 daPa
Press the START button (see adjacent image) to start the test.
The ETF test requires patient's cooperation. The test performs 3 tympanograms at 226 Hz, between
tympanograms a message will prompt the operator to instruct the patient prior to the next
tympanogram.
At the end of the test the chart shows 3 paths, named 1, 2 and 3. The first tympanogram is executed
at 0 pressure as in the classic tympanometric exam, the second at the maximum positive pressure
(+200 daPa); the third at the maximum negative pressure (-400 daPa).
The test result shows:
Diagnostic and prognostic information on the efficiency of the eustachian tube.

Early diagnosis of middle ear disease.

Follow-up of acute and sub-acute inflammatory conditions during therapy.

Follow-up in miringo-plastics with transtympanic drainage to decide the removal of the

drainage tubes when the tube function is returned normal.
Correct prognosis of tympanoplasty in patients with chronic middle otitis.

