1.5 TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR
INSTALLATION
ROOM VENTILATION
(Provisions set forth in the UNI 7129
standard, Paragraph 3)
Rooms containing type-B appliances can
be equipped with direct ventilation (i.e.
with air vents opening directly on the
outside) and indirect ventilation systems
(i.e. with air vents opening onto adjacent
rooms), provided that all the conditions
henceforth specifi ed are observed.
DIRECT AERATION
The following conditions must be observed
for installing type-B appliances:

the room must have a 6 cm
for every kW installed – nonetheless
never below 100 cm
on the wall towards the outside;

the opening must be as close as
possible to the fl oor, must not be
obstructed and must be protected
with a grille that does not reduce the
space through which air fl ows.

IMPORTANT!
• Proper aeration can also be obtained
through multiple openings, provided
that the sum of the various cross-
sectional dimensions match the
required opening size.
• Should it not be possible to place
the opening near the fl oor, the
opening's cross-sectional size must
be increased by at least 50%.
• If the room contains other devices
that require air to function, the
aeration opening must be suitably
sized (see table).
• The
extraction
regarded as an electric fan in all
respects.
• An open fi replace must have its own
air supply, otherwise the type-B gas
appliance cannot be installed in the
same room.
The opening must have a suitable cross-
sectional size.
