1.3 MAINS WATER CONNECTION AND
DRAINAGE
Cold water enters the appliance
through a pipe situated on the bottom-
right of the appliance itself.
- BLUE INDICATOR.
A non-return valve and a stop valve
must be fi tted on the cold water inlet.
Position the safety valve on a T-fi tting
as close as possible to the appliance's
inlet pipe.
The
minimum
connecting pipe must be equal to the
diameter for appliance's pipe (see
hydraulic diagram).
In order to allow the water inside the
water heater to expand, the valve must
be equipped with a pipe conveying
the expanded water through a funnel
connected directly to the outlet. In no case
whatsoever must the aforementioned pipe
be closed with a cap or stop valve.
Closing of the pipe voids the
appliance's warranty.
It is strongly advisable to install a
fi lter on the cold water inlet so as to
eliminate foreign substances such as
sand, gravel, slime, etc.
The hot water outlet is located on the
top-right of the appliance.
- RED INDICATOR.
Place a relief valve on a T-fi tting as
close as possible to the appliance's
pipe (see hydraulic diagram).
The recirculation fi tting is situated in the
centre of the appliance's right-hand side.
Do not excessively increase the diameter
of the hot water pipes. Large diameters
cause heat dispersal.
The tank drainage pipe is situated
on the rear of the appliance. It must
be equipped with a valve to facilitate
drainage. The discharge must be
visible both in a funnel joined to the
appliance's outlet and in a drain
channel connected to a centralised
discharge system.
The quality of the water distribution
piping is a crucial factor.
diameter
of
the
Pay special attention to fi ttings joining
diff erent metals.
The water circuit piping is normally
made of a galvanised iron pipes.
They must be easily dismantable. To
this aim, a dielectric insulating fi tting
must be installed near the appliance
on both the hot and cold water
connecting pipes. We advise against
the use of a copper tube upstream of
the tank.
- Check that the arrival pressure of
the water does not exceed 8 bar; for
higher pressures, a pressure reducer
should be mounted.
N.B.: the appliances are subjected to a test
pressure of 12 bar.
1.4 FLUE GAS EXPULSION
Flue gases are expelled through the
fume hood on the upper section of the
appliance. The cross-sectional size of the
fl ue must at least equal that of the fume
hood itself.
In case of an external fl ue, the latter must
be made of fi bre cement and incorporate
an external fl ue fl ushing device to prevent
condensate residues from returning to
the water heater. The joints of the fl ues
are always made on the upper end. The
external fl ue must project above the
surrounding surfaces and can be fi tted
with a static extraction device (with the
burner off , there must be no depression in
the combustion chamber).
