12. Troubleshooting

No function or no display
• Replace the batteries for new ones or check if the batteries were inserted correctly.
Error code in the display
• Observe Chapter 11.
Defective calculation for areas or volumes
• The calculation for areas or volumes can only be correct if the measured distances are per-
pendicular to each other.
• Select in the settings (chapter 10) whether the housing length of the laser distance meter is
internally added or not for the calculation.
Depending on how the distance is measured (align the housing of the laser distance meter
with the lower or upper housing end of the side to be measured), the setting must be selected
correctly.
No measurement possible or defective measured values
• Physical properties of surfaces can lead to incorrect measurements, e.g. in mirrored surfaces
(glass, water, metal) or rough/porous surfaces (e.g. aerated concrete stones, natural stone).
Use a suitable laser target panel or, as a replacement for this, a piece of cardboard, in such
cases.

13. Maintenance and Care

The product is maintenance-free for you. Never disassemble it (except for insertion or replacing
of the batteries). Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a specialist.
The outside of the product should only be cleaned with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Dust on the laser
exit opening or the lens of the laser sensor may be removed very easily with a soft, clean brush
and a vacuum cleaner.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions. They may damage the surface
of the casing (discolorations).
