g) Indirect Measurement
Use of the Pythagorean Theorem (a² + b² =
c²) permits, e.g., indirect determination of the
height of an object when there is no end point
for the laser to perform the measurement
(e.g. the upper end of a shelf).
Observe that the measurement „b" is
performed at a right angle to the desired
height „c".
Proceed as follows:
1. Keep the middle function button „ " (C) pushed until a triangle appears at the top of the
display (indirect measurement). Release the button again.
2. Push the measuring button „
red value is shown in the middle line (3). Then the lower dash of the triangle flashes in the
display.
3. Push the measuring button „
After the measurement, the middle line (3) shows the measured value of the second side
length, and the calculated height in m appears in the lower display line (4) (the right dash of
the triangle now flashes at the top of the display).
4. If another measurement is to be performed, briefly push the measuring button „
data are deleted from the display. Now continue with step 2.
Pushing the power button „ " (D) several times will take you back to the previous
step or leave indirect measurement.
