Selecting the operating mode

There are two operating modes available for selection.
On the rear side of the answering machine is a sliding switch to select the operating mode "ANS" or
"ANN ONLY".
4.1.1

Answer and record message (ANS)

The caller hears the default outgoing message or that recorded by yourself and can then leave a
message. The maximum recording time is 50 minutes.
Example of an outgoing message: "Hello, you have dialled 004321/1234. Sorry, but there's no-one
here to take the call at the moment. You can leave a message though. Please speak after the
acoustic signal.
4.1.2

Announcement only (ANN ONLY)

Note:
The "ANN ONLY" function can only be used when you have recorded the announcement
message beforehand (refer to 4.4 "Recording an announcement")
The caller hears your announcement message but cannot leave a message. The connection is
automatically broken after the outgoing message.
Example of an announcement message: "Hello, you have dialled 004321/1234. I'm sorry but you
have called outside office hours. Please call again later".
4.2

Using the default outgoing message

If you have not recorded an outgoing message, the answering machine automatically plays the
default outgoing message when in "Answer" mode. The default message can have a male or female
voice. To select between a male and female voice, press the x / REC button twice in short
succession.
Wording of the default outgoing message: "Bitte hinterlassen Sie Ihre Nachricht nach dem Ton."
4.3

Recording an outgoing message

1. Set the sliding switch to "ANS".
2. Press and hold the x / REC button. An acoustic signal is issued.
3. The message ANSAGE AUFNEHMEN appears in the display.
Note:
The outgoing message must be at least 3 seconds long and not longer than 60 seconds.
The length of the outgoing message is deducted from the maximum recording time. When
your outgoing message is 18 seconds, for example, then 49 minutes and 42 seconds
remain for incoming messages.
4. Speak your outgoing message into the microphone.
Keep a distance of about 15 cm from it.
5. To end recording, simply release the x / REC button.
6. The outgoing message is automatically played back and the message ANSAGE
ABSPIELEN appears in the display. The volume can be adjusted by pressing the two
arrow keys y and z.
You can play back your outgoing message at any time by pressing the x / REC button briefly.
