MACHINE MAINTENANCE
WARNING: Hazardous Voltage. Shock or
electrocution can result. Unplug machine before
servicing.
POWER CORD
1. Always wind power cord around cord hooks rather
than loosely looped over handle. Should power
cord become worn, replace immediately.
2. Inspect cord strain relief regularly to ensure that it
is not pulling out of housing.
FOR SAFETY: When using machine, do not pull
cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not
stretch cord. Do not close doors on cord. Do not
unplug by pulling on cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.
VACUUM BAG
1. Check bag regularly for fullness. Do not over fill
bag. Never reuse paper bag.
2. Always shake out excess dust after emptying cloth
bag. Inspect for tears and holes.
SECONDARY FILTER
STANDARD MODEL
1. Clean secondary filter weekly. Filter is located
below vacuum bag area (Figure 8).

Find... Go To..
a. Remove vacuum bag to access secondary
filter. Hinge wire frame bag support outwards.
b. Remove filter from vacuum motor and tap or
blow off dust build--up. DO NOT clean with
water or solvent.
c. When replacing filter be certain it snaps
securely on motor.
240V EMC MODEL
Clean secondary filter weekly. Filter is located
below vacuum bag area (Figure 9).

a. Remove vacuum bag to access secondary

b. Remove filter and tap or blow off dust build--up.
DO NOT clean with water or solvent.
2. Replace secondary filter if worn or not cleanable.
BRUSH AND BELT
1. Inspect regularly for entangled carpet strands and
debris.
2. Inspect brush bristles for wear periodically. If worn,
adjust brush to extend its life as follows:
a. Remove metal brush shoe from brush housing.
Philips screwdriver is required.
b. Remove brush assembly. Grip brush on
opposite side of belt and pull outwards.
c. Inspect drive belt for wear, replace if
necessary.
