EN.1 Introduction

Your new Tennant 3400 Vacuum Cleaning Machine is
designed for the professional daily maintenance of
carpets. If the safety precautions and maintenance
instructions are strictly adhered to, you will enjoy many
years of trouble free operation. A provision is that this
manual is carefully studied and that all operators read
the manual. In the unlikely event of technical defects
or faults then please contact your nearest Tennant
dealer.

EN.2 Intended use

The Tennant 3400 Vacuum Cleaning machine is
designed for the vacuuming of non--explosive dusts. It
is also designed for commercial vacuum cleaning
applications e.g. hospitals, hotels, schools, offices and
factories.
Attention! This appliance may not be used
for the following:
For vacuuming of toxic dusts

In areas where there are explosive dusts and in
S
areas where machines have to conform to
B1standards of flame proofing
Vacuuming of liquids
S
Outdoors in wet conditions
S
In temperatures below --10_C and above +70_C
S
The vacuuming of sparks
S
Without cartridge filter and paper bag.
S

EN.2.1 Unauthorized Modifications

We would like to point out that only original
Tennant parts and accessories are to be used.
Failure to adhere to these recommendations could
result in machine failure and damage that will not
be covered by the Tennant guarantee. Damaged
equipment could also result in injury to persons.
The manufacturer, its distributors and agents
cannot be held responsible at all for any damage
or injury whatsoever, caused by the improper use
of the appliance, unauthorized use, unauthorized
modifications or non- -original spares.

EN.3 Safety Precautions

The following measures have been included in the
design and construction of the Tennant 3400 Vacuum
Cleaning Machine for the safety of the operator:

EN.3.1 Safety Precautions - - Mechanical

All moving parts (fan and motor) are well protected
and can only be removed with the correct tools.

not remove any covers while the motor is running!

EN.3.2 Safety Precautions - - Electric

All electric parts are thoroughly secured and protected
and can only be removed with the correct tools. They
conform to Class 2, EN 60335.
Other Risk To avoid injury by electric shock,
do not attempt to remove or access any electric
parts while the motor is running!
General Safety Instructions for Electrical
Appliances
The appliance may not be opened while running!

Disconnect the electrical plug from the main supply
S
before opening the machine!
The appliance may only be used by persons who
S
have read the instructions and have been
authorized to operate the appliance. The appliance
may not be used by unauthorized persons.
The testing, repair or maintenance of the appliance
S
must be carried out by the Tennant authorized
servicing company or a properly instructed person.
Electrical power is dangerous. Do not make body
S
contact with badly insulated or damaged electric
cables.
Prevent moisture/water near the live electrical parts
S
(plugs, switches, electric motors, cables etc.) –
moisture/water can conduct power to persons close
to the appliance and cause an electric shock!
Squashing, pulling, stretching, abrasion, etc. can
S
cause damage to the cables and insulation.
Take note of the following:
Always disconnect the plug from the main supply
S
when cleaning or maintaining the appliance.
Follow the manufacturers instructions whenever
S
changing parts.

EN.4 Assembly of the Appliance

EN.4.1 Delivery

The Tennant 3400 Vacuum Cleaning machine is
supplied ready to use. It consists of a tank mounted on
wheels, cover with handle, filter cartridge and an
exhaust filter. In the pack, you will have the following:
hand pipe (two pieces), elbow, flexible suction hose,
floor tool and paper filter bag.
