The position indicator shows how far the Mover XT4 is
engaged:

No number visible: Engagement position
Figure 3
After manoeuvring the Mover XT4, disengage the park-
ing brake only when the four drive rollers are complete-
ly engaged.
The caravan can be moved in all directions using the control
knob and the slide control.
With the Softstart / Softstop function, the caravan starts
to move without jolting and brakes gently when
stopping.
If only the control knob of the XT4 is used, the caravan can
turn on the spot to approx. 30 cm (measured by the drawbar).
It is not possible to turn a caravan with a two-axle chassis on
the spot.
When the control knob or slide control are released, or if the
radio signal is interrupted or becomes too weak, the caravan
stops moving. Radios and other Mover remote controls will
not start your Mover.
After starting, the Mover XT4 moves at a steady speed (de-
pending on the position of the slide control). The speed in-
creases slightly on a downward slope and decreases on an
upward slope.
After manoeuvring the Mover XT4, engage the parking
brake before disengaging the four drive rollers to pre-
vent the caravan rolling.
Switch the Mover off only when the drive units are
completely disengaged.
Move the slide switch on the remote control to the "Off" posi-
tion to switch off the remote control ( Mover XT4 switches
to standby mode).
The side slide switch on the remote control (On / Off) also acts
as an "Emergency Stop switch". Switch the side slide switch
to "Off" immediately in case of any noticeable problems, e. g.
uncontrolled behaviour of the manoeuvring system.
After manoeuvring, remove the plug / adapter from the safety
socket.
The remote control can be switched on again only if it
has been switched off for at least 2 seconds. If the re-
mote control is switched off and on again quickly, it remains
switched off.
If the plug is in the safety socket for more than 1 hour,
the electronics switch off and can be reset only by un-
plugging the safety plug and plugging it in again or by switch-
ing the electronics off and on again.

Coupling to a towing vehicle
The Mover XT4 allows a caravan to be coupled to a towing
vehicle accurately and without jolting. However, this requires
care and a degree of practice.
Move the towing vehicle close to the caravan (engage the
parking brake and put it in gear).
In order to position the caravan precisely, operate the control
knob or slide control until the caravan's coupling is located
precisely over the ball coupling on the towing vehicle. Then
couple the caravan to the vehicle by lowering the jockey
wheel in the usual manner.
Mover
After coupling the caravan to the towing vehicle, disengage
the drive rollers of the Mover XT4. To do this, press both but-
tons (h) for disengaging at the same time; after approx. 3 sec-
onds (safety delay) the disengaging process begins.
After each disengagement process, check the position indi-
cator to make sure that the four drive rollers are completely
disengaged.
After disengaging the Mover XT4, switch it off on the remote
control and then unplug the 13-pole plug / adapter from the
safety socket and plug it into the 13-pole supply socket of the
towing vehicle. Depending on the installation, also disconnect
the power supply of the Mover XT4 in the caravan (open bat-
tery cut-off switch / disconnect battery).
Prepare the caravan for towing in the usual way.
siderable damage to the Mover, caravan and towing vehicle.
Maintenance
Keep drive units clear of coarse road dirt. When cleaning the
caravan, hose off the Mover XT4 and clean with a soft brush.
Make sure that no stones, twigs etc. are trapped in it. The
control unit does not require servicing. The remote control
must be kept in a dry place.
Clean the Mover XT4 as described above every year (or before
preparing for winter). Do not park the caravan with engaged
drive rollers, otherwise the tyres could be damaged.
To prevent the battery from becoming totally discharged dur-
ing long periods of inactivity, it must be disconnected and
then recharged from time to time. Charge the caravan battery
before starting up.
It is extremely easy for you or your caravan dealer to check
and maintain your Mover XT4 during the annual inspection of
your caravan. If in doubt, please contact Truma Service or one
of our authorised service partners (see www.truma.com).
Checks
– Check the installation, wiring and connections for damage
at regular intervals. The drive units must be able to move
freely and be returned automatically to the safe idle position
when they are disengaged. If this is not the case, check the
drive units for dirt or corrosion on their guides and clean
them if necessary to ensure they can move properly.
– After use, check that all motors respond properly to the
commands from the remote control.
– Before use, check the tyre pressure and that the drive roll-
ers have the correct gap to the tyres when disengaged. This
is 20 +/- 1 mm. If the gap is larger, have it corrected by a
specialist shop.
Before driving off, make sure that the drive rollers are
completely disengaged Otherwise there is a risk of con-
Do not use a high-pressure cleaner to clean the
Mover XT4.
