9. Start up

m
ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
Soil is always filled into the drum from the front.
• Before putting the implement into operation, ob-
serve the safety instructions.
• All guards and safety devices must be fitted.
• After connection to the electrical power, your
RS350 is ready for service.
• Always attach the power cable to the clamp in the
gusset plate.
Setup
• Depending on the place of setting up, incline
the sieve drum as required. For this, loos-
en the knob of the angle adjustment lock and
position the sieve drum horizontally. The hy-
draulic
spring
supports
m Caution: crushing hazard!
The angle ratchet clicks into the first position (0°).
In order to position the sieve drum at 4° and 8°, pull
the ratchet lever from the angle ratchet. When the
sieve drum is in the required position, secure the
sieve drum with the knob.
• The degree of inclination depends on the type of
soil to be sieved and the slope of the installation
site.
• For loose material we recommend more inclina-
tion, and for solid material less inclination.
• If there is too much of a gradient at the installation
site so that the desired angle cannot be achieved
with the settings, you can put e.g. a board under-
neath both the device's feet. Make sure the rotary
sifter is in a secure position.
Transport and storage, Fig. 6
• Turn the device off, disconnect it from the mains
and remove coarse soil.
• Loosen the angle ratchet and the knob and put the
sieve drum in the transport position in a controlled
manner. Ensure that the sieve drum does not sud-
denly move downwards in an uncontrolled way.
Otherwise, the device can become damaged.
• Secure the sieve drum in the transport position
with the safety splint, by doing the splint put into
the bore of angle sheet and drum frame.
• Now you can transport the device easily and store
it without much space requirement. Make sure the
storage area is dry.
Disassembling/assembling the sieve insert, Fig. 7
By using the sieve insert, you can reduce the mesh
size from 20 mm to 10 mm and therefore influence
the sieving result.
The drum remains attached to the frame for this.

the
movement.
• Remove the drum bars (A) from the inside of the
drum in a longitudinal direction. Before you do that,
mark with a felt-tip pen the position of the two drum
bars for re-installation.
• Loosen the rings (B) at the front and the rear of
the sieve drum and remove them from the drum.
• Carefully remove the sieve insert from the sieve
drum.
• Re-attach the drum bars (A) in the positions
marked previously.
To assemble to sieve insert, work in reverse order.
• One of the drum bars has to cover the sieve abut-
ting edge.

10. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and ready
for operation. The connection complies with the ap-
plicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as the ex-
tension cable used must also comply with these reg-
ulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
• Pressure points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
• Kinks where the connection cable has been im-
properly fastened or routed.
• Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
• Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
• Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insulation
damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Ensure that the connection cables are dis-
connected from electrical power when checking for
damage.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
applicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use con-
nection cables with the designation H05VV-F.
The printing of the type designation on the connec-
tion cable is mandatory.
