5. Notes on maintenance and operation

Function test

In order to ensure prior to a measurement that the instrument
is working properly you can carry out a function test. For this
purpose switch on the instrument and place the electrode pins
on the contact surfaces µ identified by T on the upper face
of the protective cover.
If the values displayed correspond to the reference values,
the instrument is functioning properly.

Reference values for the function test:
Wood moisture scale . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 27 % ± 2 %
Building moisture scale . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.25 % ± 0.1 %
The device is in disorder if the values displayed do not correspond
to the reference values.
