8. Notes on maintenance and operation

Changing batteries

If "BAT" appears in the display, a service life of a few hours remains
depending on the operating mode.
Open the battery cover on the front of the instrument.
Take out the empty battery and replace it with a new one. Please only
use batteries of the type: 9V E-block (PP3). Do not use rechargeable
batteries!
Please ensure that the battery is inserted the right way round
(correct polarity) and always use high-quality batteries.
Care
Clean the instrument when necessary with a damp cloth. Do not
use cleaning agents, just clean water to moisten the cloth.
Changing locations
Especially when moving from a cold to a warm environment,
for example taking inside a heated room after storing overnight
in a car, condensation may form on the circuit board depending
on the humidity of the room.
This physical effect which cannot be prevented in any measuring
instrument by constructional means leads to false measured values.
Therefore the display shows no measured values in this situation.
