4 Operation
4.1 General
A manifold block is an assembly of a number of valves which are connected in line. With this manifold a
user can use the pressure of one pump to drive a number of tools. Pressure gauges are available as an
option. Hoses and tools are connected via High-Flow or Quick-Lock couplings. Some manifolds have
the possibility to regulate the oil flow to the tool.
Manifold blocks are available in two versions: single-acting and double-acting blocks.
Caution
Observe the working principle of the pump used. Only connect a single-acting pump to a
single-acting manifold block and a double-acting pump to a double-acting manifold block.
4.2 Connecting/disconnecting the manifold block
The High-Flow coupling is the screw-on coupling used on single or duo hoses. The Quick-lock couplers
are pushed into each other and lock. In case of duo hoses, which are used in combination with double
acting manifolds, the supply hose and the return hose are bundled together with ties. A duo hose with
Quick-Lock has a female and male coupler on each side. A hose with High-Flow couplers is equipped
with the same couplers (male or female) on each side. If you want to connect or disconnect a tool and/or
a hose, make sure that the pressure on the pump coupler is relieved first.
