Troubleshooting
6.1
General
Consult the Holmatro dealer if the listed solutions do not give the desired result, or in case of other
problems.
For malfunctions or repair, always specify the model and serial number of the equipment.
Note
If problems occur in the tool or pump please see the troubleshooting section in the manual of
the tool or pump used.
Because manifold valves are mostly used to control the operation of multiple cylinders, the
troubleshooting examples are related to problems which occur during the use of these
cylinders.
6.2
The plunger of the cylinder is not, or only partly, extended
/i
Possible cause
The pressure relief valve on the pump is open.
The couplings are not connected correctly.
The valve on the manifold block is in the wrong
position.
6.3
The plunger extends with jerks
/i
Possible cause
There is air in the system.
6.4
The plunger extends more slowly than usual
/i
Possible cause
One of the joints leaks.
The couplings are not connected correctly.
The connected pump does not work.
6.5
The plunger extends, but does not retain pressure
/i
Possible cause
One of the joints leaks.
The system is not arranged correctly.

Solution
Close the pressure relief valve on the pump.
Correctly connect the couplings.
Open (extend) or close (withdraw) the valve on the
manifold block.
Solution
Vent the cylinder.
Solution
Have the equipment repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
Correctly connect the couplings.
Inspect the pump.
Solution
Have the equipment repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
Re-arrange the system. Make sure that all
