11.2.2. Fusion SPLICES
Install the fusion splices as per company practices. Please refer to the relevant instruction.
12 fiber tray: Install the heat shrink fusion splice
protectors in 2 levels of 6 splices (Pic 41)
24 fiber tray: Install the heat shrink fusion splice
protectors in 3 levels of 8 splices (Pic 42)
11.2.3. Mechanical splices FIBRLOK
Install the mechanical splices as per company practices.
Please refer to the relevant instruction.
Pic 43: Mechanical splices are not correctly installed.
Pic 44: Mechanical splices are correctly installed.
Trays WITHOUT splitter position can accommodate 12 splices in 2
rows of 6 splices.
Trays WITH splitter position can accommodate 10 splices arranged
in 2 levels of 5 splices.
In any case check that the splice is correctly centered
in the support (Pic 45).
11.2.4. Mix of different types of splices
Install the splices as per company practices. Please refer to the relevant instruction.
Secure the splice protection inside the holder. (Pic 46) (Any holder can accommodate mechanical or fusion splice, then the
mix is totally open).
11.2.5. Changing the type of splice holder
Remove the existing splice holder by slightly bending
the splice tray (pic 47).
Install the new splice holder (pic 48).
12. Closing the closure
Check that all components are properly installed and secured.
Check that any fiber / module may be caught while closing the closure.
Check that, there are no stresses on the fibers.
Check that the O-ring gasket is well positioned and clean and check the
Cover water tightness area is clean.
Position the cover over the closure.
Push down the cover until the 2 side latches are inside their retention.
