11.0 Batteries and charging
WARNING!
•
Please read the owner's manual supplied with the
charger carefully.
•
Do not expose any part of the battery to direct heat
(i.e. naked flame, gas fire).
•
When charging always place your charger on a hard
surface in a room with good ventilation.
•
You should not charge your batteries in outdoor
conditions.
11.1 Batteries, (Fig. 11.1 - 11.4)
The batteries are contained within the drive unit located
beneath the seat, under the battery shroud.
To remove the batteries:
•
Release the two handle screws under the front of the
seat frame that connect the seat frame with the seat
module interface, ( A-Fig.11.1).
•
Flip the seat frame backwards and secure it with the
safety bar, (B-Fig.11.2).
•
Lift off the battery lid, (Fig.11.3).
•
Disconnect the 2 pin Anderson connectors from each
battery, (C-Fig.11.3).
•
There are straps available on each battery where they
can be lifted out with the front battery being removed
first, (D-Fig.11.4).
•
To fit the batteries please reverse the above process.
WARNING!
•
The Salsa M2 Mini is fitted with two flexible straps
that retain both of the handle screws, (A-Fig.11.5).
These are fitted as a safety feature and should not be
removed from the wheelchair .
•
If the flexible straps are missing, or either of the
handle screws are not in place, please stop using the
wheelchair immediately and seek assistance to check
that the handle screws and straps are fitted correctly,
(A-Fig.11.5).
•
Ensure both handle screws and straps are in place
and secure.
