The HYDAC HFT 2100 Flow Rate Transmitter Series is based on a variable area float
measurement principle.
The test medium deflects a spring-loaded float in the flow direction, depending on the flow
rate but irrespective of the installation position.
A Hall sensor is fitted to the outside of the instrument and is therefore also outside of the flow
circuit. It determines the position of the float. In proportion to the deflection of the float, the
sensor produces an analogue signal which corresponds to the particular measuring range.
The instrument is calibrated for vertical installation and for a flow direction from bottom to top.
Since the weight of the float has an effect on the measurement result, variations could occur
for other installation positions.
The instruments are viscosity compensated for a viscosity range of 30 to 600 cSt,
i.e. within this range, any deviations caused by a change in viscosity will be within the given
measurement tolerance.
