With HAL, Jasper Morrison has created a reinterpretation of the
multifunctional shell chair and a varied chair range with a distinctly
contemporary appearance. The shape of HAL's shell ensures plen-
ty of freedom of movement and the slightly flexible plastic makes
many different sitting positions possible – even sideways and
astride the chair. Because of this, HAL facilitates dynamic, ergo-
nomic seating. The selection of bases and shell colours opens up
a wide range of choices as well. Combining the chair with the
matching HAL Table, which was developed at the same time, is
also an option. HAL can be used in all kinds of environments – in
the office, as well as in public spaces and in the home.
At the Vitra Test Centre, all Vitra products are subjected to rigorous
testing that simulates 15 years of use. The surfaces and individual
parts are especially robust. The bases and shells, which have no
places where dirt can collect, are easy to clean. The chair bears
the GREENGUARD environmental label, which benefits HAL with
regard to the LEED building certification. Its materials can be sepa-
rated by type for recycling.
The HAL shell can be combined with more than ten different bases.
The large chair range is available in many colours and offers an
array of combination possibilities that meet all kinds of different
needs.
Jasper Morrison hat mit HAL den multifunktionalen Schalenstuhl
neu interpretiert und eine variantenreiche Familie mit klarem, zeit-
genössischem Ausdruck geschaffen. Die Form der Schale von HAL
bietet viel Bewegungsfreiheit und der leicht nachgiebige Kunststoff
erlaubt unterschiedliche Sitzpositionen – auch seitwärts oder ritt-
lings. So fördert HAL das dynamische, ergonomische Sitzen. Durch
die vielen Untergestelle und Schalenfarben eröffnen sich zudem
zahlreiche Variationsmöglichkeiten, die sich durch die Kombination
mit dem gleichzeitig entwickelten HAL Table noch erweitern lassen.
Damit bietet HAL vielfältige Einsatzmöglichkeiten – im Büro, in
öffentlichen Bereichen und auch zuhause.
Im Vitra Test Center wird jedes Vitra-Produkt Prüfungen unter zo gen,
die seine 15-jährige Nutzung simulieren. So sind auch die Ober-
flächen und alle Einzelteile von HAL besonders widerstandsfähig;
die Gestelle und Schalen haben keine sogenannten Schmutzfallen
und sind leicht zu reinigen. Mit seinem Umweltlabel GREENGUARD
ist HAL von Nutzen bei der Gebäudezertifizierung nach LEED, seine
Materialien sind sortenrein trenn- und recycelbar.
Zur Kombination mit der Schale von HAL stehen mehr als zehn ver-
schiedene Untergestelle bereit. Zusammen mit den angebotenen
Farbvarianten ergeben sich unzählige Möglichkeiten, in der gros-
sen Stuhlfamilie die passende Wahl für unterschiedlichste Bedürf-
nisse zu treffen.
Avec HAL, Jasper Morrison a réinventé la chaise coque multifonc-
tionnelle et créé une famille aux multiples variantes dégageant une
impression clairement contemporaine. La forme de la coque HAL
offre une grande liberté de mouvement et le matériau en plastique
qui la compose, légèrement souple, permet des positions d'assise
variées, même latérales ou à califourchon. HAL favorise ainsi une
assise ergonomique et dynamique. Les nombreux piètements et
coloris de la coque permettent une multitude de combinaisons
individuelles, pouvant se combiner parfaitement à la table HAL
élaborée conjointement. Ainsi, HAL permet des usages multiples
au bureau, dans les locaux publics mais aussi à la maison.
Au Vitra Test Center, tous les produits Vitra sont soumis à des tests
simulant quinze années d'utilisation. C'est pourquoi, les surfaces et
tous les composants de HAL sont extrêmement résistants ; les sup-
ports et les coques sont faciles à nettoyer. La chaise est dotée des
sigles environnementaux GREENGUARD et LEED ; les matériaux
qui la composent sont de même nature, dissociables et recyclables.
Il existe plus d'une dizaine de piètements différents pouvant
être combinés avec la coque HAL. En les associant aux coloris
proposés, on obtient de multiples possibilités permettant de
trouver, parmi la grande famille de chaises, le modèle répondant
aux besoins les plus divers.
