Installation of the wire lane to the socket and to the pilot relay:
1.
Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
2.
Remove the panelling in the boot (left, right and rear).
3.
Drill a 18mm diameter wide leadthrough at an appropriate place in the rear wall (near the
socket holder, left of the lock, below the fender mount). Smooth off the edges of the hole and
apply anticorrosive agent.
4.
Insert the enclosed rubber bushing into the hole.
5.
Run the electrical lines in the boot to the tail lights.
Run the socket end through the rubber bushing to the socket.
6.
Fasten the pilot relay to an appropriate place in the front left of the boot with the enclosed
Velcro tape. Connect pilot relay and tail lights (left/right).
7.
Disconnect the rear fog light's supply line coming from the front and strip the insulation of the
wire ends. Attach the enclosed flat plugs to these ends. Now plug these flat plugs into the
enclosed housing so that the vehicle's rear fog light is switched off during trailer operation.
The grey/blue wire comes from the switsch.
8.
13-pin socket: Connect the brown/yellow wire to the back up lights with the special
connectors . The red 1.5 cable ist for Charge line.
Assembling the towed vehicle control light and the wiring harness:
1.
The following parts need to be taken out:
Panelling under the dashboard, covering of the left front wall column,
driver seat, back seat and back rest, cluster instrument,
covers of the front and back left door sills.
2.
Insert the lamp holder with the light bulb into socket no. 2 of the cluster instrument and remount
the cluster instrument. (There may be an earth wire on the lamp holder instead of an earth tab
or pin. In this case fasten the earth cable to an appropriate earthing point.)
3.
Lay the three wires (grey, red/white and grey/red) to the fuse box and connect as following
(It may be necessary to loosen the fuse box in the engine compartment):
- grey to fuse 8
- red/white to fuse 9
- grey/red to fuse 3
4.
Use cutter connectors to attach the black/red wire to the output line of the brake light switch.
5.
Lay out the wire to the front in the boot and connect with the forward wire (4-pin plug
connector).
6.
Connect the earth cable to the battery and check the function of the system.
