BIOM® ready
Visualization of the Posterior Section of the Eye
After all preparations for surgery in the posterior section of the eye have been completed,
proceed as follows without changing the microscope position:
Use a suitable endo-illumination.
Swing the BIOM® ready into the beam path of the microscope. To do so, lift the
bottom part of the BIOM® ready and only release it when the BIOM® ready is at the
final swung-in position.
Switch off the microscope illumination.
Activate the SDI® to reverse the total image reversal.
Dismounting and Disposal after Surgery
After the surgery, dismount the BIOM® ready and dispose of it in the proper manner, in
accordance with the applicable hygiene regulations.
Caution
Risk to patient if the BIOM® ready is dismounted incorrectly

Loosen the knurled screw; see page
Pull the BIOM® ready along with the adapter plate off the dovetail mount; see page
16
.
Pull the BIOM® ready off the adapter plate.
Pull the sterile cap off the knob at the SDI®; see page 15.
Remove the sterile cover from the adapter plate, if applicable.
Pull the sterile cap off the knurled screw, if applicable; see page 16.
Dispose of the disposable parts in accordance with the hospital's hygiene
regulations and legal regulations.
