6. GLOSSARY/ SYMBOLS
DANGEROUS AREA: Are a inside and/or near the machine where someone is exposed to potential health and safety risks.
EXPOSED PERSON: Anyone near or in a dangerous area or part of it.
MACHINE OPERATOR: Person appointed to fit, operate, set up, maintain, clean, repair or transport the machine.
MACHINE OPERATOR'S QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum level of skill required to operate the machine.
MACHINE STATUS: the functioning mode, i.e. in operation, on shut down, etc.
REMAINING DANGER: A danger that cannot be eliminated or adequately reduced by the machine design, against which the
guards are not ( or are not completely ) effective: the handbook sets out information on the remaining danger with instruc-
tions and warnings about how to overcome the risk ( pursuant to European regulations EN 292/1 and EN 292/2 )
SAFETY COMPONENT: A component used to ensure the safe operation of the machine; if faulty or broken, the overall safety of
the machine is compromised with risks of injury or to health.
SYMBOLS
Symbols are followed by important information/instructions, particularly in relation to safety. Failure to
heed the information or carry out the instructions leads to:
* danger to the machine operators;
* the forfeiting of warranty rights;
* no liability of the manufacturer.
