Multiple Handsets
Up to four handsets can be registered on the base station. Each handset
can only be registered on one base station at any particular time.
The handset remembers which base station it was registered with last.
Attention: To register a handset with a base station or to log it
off one, another handset is required that is registered with that
base station. To register handsets with a new base station,
always log them off the old base station first.
The standardised GAP Standard enables SWITEL handsets
and even those from other manufacturers to be integrated in
the telephone system. In the same way, a SWITEL handset
can be registered on base stations from other manufacturers
as long as they comply with the GAP Standard.
The following options are available if two handsets are used:
S Internal calls between the handsets (intercom),
S External calls can be transferred from the handset,
S Incoming external calls are received on all handsets.
If one handset is currently using the outside line, no further
external call is possible.
GAP: Generic Access Profile = Standard for the interoperation of
handsets and base stations from other manufacturers.
