Photoelectric Sensors
Laser distance sensor with IO-Link and additional functions
BOD 21M-LBI05-S4
Installation (continued)
Fig. 3: Connector swivel range
The sensor can be attached in three different ways:
Using two M4 screws and washers with the housing
through-holes
Using a mounting bracket (available separately)
Using special clamps (available separately) on the
dovetail of the housing
The switching distance is measured beginning at the
optical window.
The M12 connector can be rotated 270°.

Tab. 1: Pin assignment
As shipped or after resetting the sensor to factory defaults
Pin 2 is configured as an analog output and Pin 4 as a
PNP switching output (Q1). The switching logic of Q1 is
normally open. The sensor uses background suppression
(see Section Factory setting on page 6).
Measuring accuracy
The sensor reaches its full accuracy after a minimum
switch-on time of 30 minutes under constant ambient
conditions.
The duration of warm-up depends on the ambient
conditions.

Button
The button can be used to set switching point Q1 (SSC1)
as well as the start and end point of the analog output
(Iout).
Analog signal
The value of the analog signal depends on the distance
and the configuration of the analog output.
