SIMPLE LOGGER II

4.2 CONNECTION OF THE SIMPLE LOGGER

COMPUTER
Install the DATAVIEW
manual
Connect the Simple Logger
necessary to your computer's manual.
The logger can be connected while recording, but this will increase the load on the batteries.

4.3 STARTING

The device can be started up in one of the two ways below:
♦ Press the "PRESS" button for approximately 2 seconds. Release the button only after all five LEDs are
lit simultaneously.
The device is now in standby mode (every 5 seconds, the green LED, and only the green LED, flashes once)
(provided that the memory is empty and there is no alarm)
NOTE: If, when the button is pressed, all of the LEDs light instantaneously, the device was in
sleep mode. The LEDs then indicate the status of the device every 5 seconds.
♦ Connect the device to the USB port of your computer and establish communications using DataView
software. The logger remains in operation for as long as the link with the control panel remains active.
(The batteries in the device must be in good condition for the link to be reliable.)
The device has protection circuits that prevent operation when the supply voltage falls to 1.7 V.
There are two battery voltage monitoring thresholds:
♦ The first, at 2.2 volts, triggers a visual indication (single flash of the blue LED) that the batteries are
low and must be replaced.
♦ The second, at 1.7 volt, switches off the device and stops any recording in progress.
NOTE: The USB link is broken off at the first threshold at 2.2 V.
